Children love a good cake and it’s really nice to know what the ingredients are when we feed our children.
Litsa’s chocolate cake
- Ingredients
- 4 ounces or 4 square chocolate (semi-sweet)
- ½ cup butter
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
Here is how you do the chocolate cake
Use a double boiler or micro to melt chocolate and butter
Let it cool down and place the mixture in the mixer bowl
Add the sugar and mix well
Add the eggs and continue mixing
Add baking powder and salt in the flour
Add vanilla in the milk
Alternate the dry ingredients with the milk and make sure you mix well
Prepare 2 round 9-inch baking tins with butter and parchment paper at the bottom
Bake for 30 min at 350, check with toothpick if it’s done, it should come out clean
Frosting
- Ingredients
- 2 ounces or 2 squares semi sweet chocolate
- ½ cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 ½ cups sugar
Melt chocolate with butter in micro or double boiler
Let cool and place the mixture in the mixer bowl
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix very well
The frosting has to cool down completely before you attempt to use it, while it cools it will thicken and it will be ready to use.
