Saganaki with Shrimp and Feta News

  • 2 pounds shrimp (not cooked shell removed
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 cup prepared tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup Greek feta cheese in small pieces
  •  Pepper a touch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp red Pepper flakes
  • In a heavy pan add olive oil and butter, sauté onion and garlic until transparent.
  • Add shrimp and cook until it changes color about 3 minutes.
  • Incorporate tomato sauce and water, stir well and add salt, pepper and dry Oregano.
  • Add to the shrimp and cook 2 more minutes
  • Add Feta cheese and place in a hot oven for 10 min to give the cheese a chance to melt.
  • Serve with good bread and enjoy something so easy and yet so delicious.

        When cooking with Feta cheese keep in mind to use less salt.
